The Road to Nowhere
This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. Above is the suicide prevention video I produced a few weeks after my good friend Kevin threw himself in front of a train. He was 28. It is coming up to the first anniversary of that horrible day.

I take this time to honor the people I know who chose to take their own lives. My first psychiatrist, who was the regional expert on depression, and who was finally overwhelmed because he couldn't find a way to help the people he was charged with helping. My poet friends who fought hard to live, and finally could not. The young people who got a taste of what our disorder gives us, and just said no.
The people I have loved who have committed suicide have left black holes in my heart.
